How I Got Here
- I have my Bachelors of Arts from the University of Arizona in Political Science and Psychology and have been certified in Emotional Intelligence coaching through Transformation Academy.
- After graduation, I spent 12 years climbing the corporate ladder in business and finance management for large American companies. Working 50-60 hour weeks, skipping vacation, never taking a sick day - all of these seemingly toxic things were seen as a badge of honor to me at the time. It took a major life setback for me to realize that I wasn’t living my life in a way that was allowing me to grow as a person or in my career. So I packed up my life and moved to Berlin in 2018.
- Moving to a new country gave me a fresh perspective on life. As I moved into a new career in consulting expats and then at a German start-up, I realized that understanding and having a high level of emotional and social intelligence was fundamental to becoming more successful and fulfilled with life overall.
- My friends and family have come to me when they want to talk through challenges they were facing or to get a fresh perspective and through these discussions, I discovered Emotional Intelligence in 2012. In the past 9 years, I have studied Emotional Intelligence and learned how it helps you build stronger relationships, succeed at school and work, and achieve your career and personal goals.
- After 15 years in my career, I have moved into coaching so that the professional training and coaching tools I’ve learned can help you discover how to develop your Emotional and Social Intelligence. I want to help others connect with their feelings, turn intention into action, and make informed decisions about what matters most to you.

I had three coaching sessions with Jia-Yi. These were in a particularly stressful transitional phase in my professional life and I really felt they helped keep my concerns grounded. Jia-Yi is a warm, empathetic, and insightful coach. I felt listened to and she was able to ask perceptive questions without being in any way judgmental or patronising. The resources she sent me were clear and helpful. One on reframing conflict as a problem to be solved with the other person was very useful in helping me realign my mindset. I would highly recommend her as a professional coach.
